Barbara D. Livingston studied Experimental Photography at Syracuse University and is the Chief Photographer at Daily Racing Form. She lives in Saratoga Springs, New York. She has been taking racehorse photography since 1971, but has taken photos of racehorses since she was a child. She is also the author of 7 books, including the “Old Friends” series. Livingston has won the Eclipse Award (the “Oscars” of racing photography) 5 times. She believes that “It’s an obsession, horses are mythical creatures.” Through her photography, she wants to convey the beauty of horses and thoroughbreds.
